Situated on approximately 3 acres off of Thunderstick Drive in Lexington, KY, this 44,000 RSF facility houses the U.S. government's SSA, ODAR, and OIG offices on 2 floors of Class "A" office space. All of the courtrooms utilize walls, door and ceiling assemblies specifically designed for high Sound Transmission Coefficient ratings to eliminate eavesdropping and assist with the integrity of highly sensitive recording equipment. Separate Judge's chambers and employee's entrance add to the security of the facility. In addition to the facility being designed to LEED Silver standards, it is also Energy Star 75 rated. These certificates will allow the building to be environmentally friendly while consuming less energy through its life cycle. The project was completed and the agencies took occupancy in April 2012.
