John Rooker began his career with ROOKER at an early age working in the field throughout high school and college. This valuable experience led to his position as assistant project manager in 2002; the same year he also graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in General Business. While functioning as a project manager, John developed management skills and practices that carried into a sales and leasing position in 2004. In this role, he was responsible for the liquidation of approximately 9 million square feet of space with an average sales price per square foot of $45.00. After 3 years of strengthened experience in this position, John was named Vice President. John’s leadership role instilled strong work ethic and teamwork in each project, ultimately resulting in being named Chief Executive Officer in 2011.

As CEO, John is responsible for overseeing development, construction management, leasing, and sales for the company. He works closely with ROOKER’s CFO, assisting in decisions regarding deployment of capitol and financial resources. John is also responsible for generating new business leads for build-to-suit opportunities, while overseeing all marketing aspects of the company. Two recently led efforts include 500-acre Riverside West Business Park, and the redevelopment of Shannon Mall in Union City, GA. The Union City project resulted in a 1 million square foot building for DHL Logistics and 245,000 square feet of purpose-built sound stages, offices, and mill space for Atlanta Metro Studios where he is currently a managing partner.

John serves on the Board of Directors for The Shepherd Center Foundation, on the University of Georgia Board of Visitors, and also previously served on the inaugural Emerging Leaders for Children’s group for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. John is a member of NAIOP, SIOR, GEDA, Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, and Young Presidents Organization. He is married with three children.
