ROOKER acquires 600 acres for development of Class-A business park in Commerce, GA

ROOKER has closed on 600 acres in Commerce, GA for development of Bana 85 Commerce Center, a Class-A business and logistics park. Once build-out is complete, the park will hold up to six million square feet of facilities, potentially creating up to two thousand new jobs. Road and utility construction will begin in 2020, as will grading for an initial site to accommodate 1,500,000 square feet. Bana 85 Commerce Center will have sites available in a range of sizes for build-to-suit or user sales in the warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing sectors.

“We’ve been looking to re-invest in Jackson County and Commerce since selling Commerce 85 Business Park for the SK Innovation project in 2018, so we’re excited to be back in the community with a property that adds tremendous value to the already thriving area,” said John Rooker, CEO of ROOKER. “Jackson County is experiencing strong project location growth and job growth. We expect that our investment in Bana 85 Commerce Center will result in the creation of new jobs and an expanded tax base, which will benefit the local community. We also believe we have a unique offering for tenants and users. Bana 85 Commerce Center is in the growing Northeast submarket of Atlanta, one of the largest submarkets with interstate access that is second to none.”

ROOKER acquired the 600 acres of undeveloped land by assembling multiple properties within the area. The land acquisition included several industrial-zoned parcels and three commercial zoned land parcels. ROOKER worked closely with Brent Story, of Avalon Real Estate Partners, who brokered the deal on behalf of the sellers.
