John Rooker began his career with ROOKER at an early age by working in the field on various projects. During these years of working on projects from the ground up, John gained a priceless understanding of how a project comes to life through teamwork. John took the knowledge gained from his hands on experience on the job site and carried it into his position as assistant project manager in 2002. During that same year John graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in General Business. While acting as a project manager, John began to develop many of the management skills and practices that allowed him to move into a sales and leasing position in 2004. While in this role, John was responsible for the liquidation of approximately 9 million square feet of space with an average sales price per square foot of $45.00. After 3 years in this position, John was well rounded in many aspects of the business and as a result was named Vice President of ROOKER in 2007.

While taking on this leadership role for the company, John was able to instill his hard work ethic and sense of teamwork into every project ROOKER pursued.
In 2011 John was named Chief Executive Officer of ROOKER. As such, John is responsible for overseeing development, construction, leasing, sales and marketing for the company. He led efforts in two recent developments, the Shannon Mall redevelopment and the 500-acre Riverside West Business Park. He works closely with ROOKER's CFO, assisting in decisions regarding deployment of capitol and financial resources. He is also responsible for generating new business leads for build-to-suit opportunities while overseeing all marketing aspects of the company.

John serves on the Board of Trustees for The Shepherd Center Foundation and served on the inaugural Emerging Leaders for Children’s group for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. John is a member of NAIOP, SIOR, and GEDA and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. He is married with three children.
