John Rooker
John Rooker began his career with Rooker early, gaining hands-on experience in the field during high school and college. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 2002 with a B.B.A in General Business, he joined the company full-time as an Assistant Project Manager. He later advanced into sales and leasing, successfully liquidating approximately 9 million square feet of space before earning his title as Vice President in 2007. Within 4 years, John was named Chief Executive Officer.
John has served as Chief Executive Officer of Rooker since 2011. In his role, John oversees the company’s development, construction management, leasing, and sales operations. He works closely with the Chief Financial Officer on capital deployment and financial strategy, while also leading marketing initiatives and business development efforts for build-to-suit opportunities. John also serves as CEO at Atlanta Metro Studios, the full service purpose-built film and television production facility that was previously known as the Shannon Mall before its redevelopment in 2014.
John serves on the Board of Directors for The Shepherd Center Foundation and is an Emeritus member for the Terry College Alumni Board. He previously served on the inaugural Emerging Leaders for Children’s group at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Athens Academy Board of Directors and the University of Georgia Board of Visitors. He is also a member of NAIOP, SIOR, GEDA, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, and Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
John lives in Athens, Georgia with his wife and their three children.
