Rooker developed this 9,796 RSF facility for the General Services Administration (GSA) to house the Social Security Administration (SSA). The project was a build-to-suit for GSA and incorporates the tenant agency's latest requirements into the design. The structure is a one story, pre-engineered steel structure with a single slope metal roof and parapet wall surrounding three sides. The exterior is brick veneer and presents a professional appearance to claimants that visit the facility.
The interior design of the facility utilizes high efficiency HVAC equipment, occupancy sensors and daylighting controls to assist in conserving energy. Interior finishes include vinyl wall covering in public areas, ceramic tile and carpet tiles.
This facility also houses two hearing rooms for the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. These hearing rooms are designed with high STC rated wall assemblies and sound-proof doors for privacy. The hearing rooms are also equipped with video teleconferencing capabilities for remote users. The facility was completed and the agency took occupancy in September 2014.
